Manzanita Market wants your favorite tried-and-true dessert recipes.

The first place winner will receive $100 in groceries, second place $50, and third place receives $25 in groceries.

Recipes must original (or modified from someone else’s) and feature (mostly) items that we carry in the store. Winners will be selected based on originality, ease of preparation and, of course, taste. Extra points given for featuring local NW products and/or natural/organic ingredients. Many of the recipes will appear on our new website and a number of the top finalists’ desserts will be prepared and taste-tested by our staff before choosing the winners.

You may enter by either visiting our website: manzanitamarket.com and using the handy online Recipe Contest email form or downloading a contest form in Microsoft Word format, filling it and printing it and hand delivering to the store. Submit your original recipe, along with your full name, city/town of residence, phone number and email address. Include the number of servings for each recipe.

Along with your recipe, please share in 50 words or less, a brief background on your recipe and why you chose to submit it.

Deadline for entries is midnight December 31, 2013. Winners will be announced by the end of January 2014.
