When you think of hard apple cider you are probably not used to expecting a very elegant drinking experience. Let’s face it, a lot of hard cider tastes overly sweet, kind of acidic and may be fine for a summer beach party but not very appealing for more discriminating palates.
Well, be prepared for a surprise when you try Crispin Cider. Perfect for holiday entertaining, these sparkly, crisp ciders are naturally fermented using fresh pressed apple juice, not from concentrate, and fermented with Belgian Trappist beer and champagne yeasts. They are not sweet like most commercial cider products. They are more on the dry side and they taste like a cross between cider and champagne with wonderful complexity of flavor unlike any other cider we’ve carried, so far.
We currently carry two varieties of Crispin Cider:
The Saint boasts a sweet floral bouquet and a yeasty, herbal complexity.
Honey Crisp is also a small batch, hand crafted, super-premium hard apple cider but is smoothed with real organic honey.
No added malt, spirit or grape alcohols, or added sugar, colorants, sorbate and benzoate preservatives are used and it’s certified “gluten free.”
Visit the Crispin website for more information and recipes.
